Grunge Queen Splurge

Ever had one of those days when you feel like you're working so hard all the time, but never seeing getting anywhere?

That was me yesterday. Discouraging day.

On my way home I was walking by my local flower shop - where you can get a pretty cluster of flowers for as little as a few bucks - and I made the decision: I was going to splurge on myself.
The bouquet was so beautiful, a bunch of faded yellow, pink and orange roses ... eleven of them.

The cost: $10.99. I rarely spend that much on petals for little 'ole moi, but the day merited my buying them, I figured.

They smell like heaven.

I love roses. I keep them around as long as I can by cutting their stems and changing their water every day or so; then when they're almost at their end I snap the stems off entirely and plop the rose heads into a huge rose bowl.

For now they're hanging out in a silver tone vase I picked up in a salvage shop for $10.
